♞ Aera Deck Breakdown
Hey Persuaders!
Today, we are going to look at this seed deck from Aera used to raise $4.25M.
Simple opening slide: if I was advising them, I’d say to cut one of the words from their 4 Ps. It’s just basic psychology that we tend to remember words in 3s, adding the 4th makes it significantly less impactful and more difficult for the brain to process.
Starting with a perspective framer is always great. I don’t love this perspective framer but from a pitch deck building pov this is the right 2nd slide to have.

Team this early in a pre-seed deck is allowed. Especially if your team is the most impressive part of the deck (in which case its highly advised).
Educational background slide here, the text itself isn’t clear so I’d hope that the pitch that accompanied it was. I’d always aim to have your slides capable of standing alone.
Two Forbes 30U30 Founders Transforming Mental Wellness
Forbes 30 Under 30 winners founded Aura to solve the $100B problem - mental wellbeing.
Aura has quickly grown to 8 million users & 100k+ paying subscribers, and attracted investments from legendary Silicon Valley VCs & executives from Spotify, Facebook, and Apple.
Way too detailed here, hard to read the text but again the general strategy of a wider problem/market slide followed by a “challenge” slide that deep dives into it is a winning format.
Simple product slide, I’d have liked it to more easily tie into the slides above but that is more a fault of the earlier slides than this one.
This really should have been earlier in the pitch. I would have build the pitch around this slide and not the product slide.
Would you invest based on this deck? |
