♞ Albert Deck Breakdown
Hey Persuaders!
Today, we are going to look at a deck from Albert used to raise $1M.
I love the design of this slide, but the slogan is a marketing slogan. I would have preferred an “investor” slogan that explained what they were doing, how they were helping, or why investors should invest. It's something to get me hooked as an investor, not just to sound good at the end of a jingle.
This is an apparent and easy-to-understand problem. They could have designed the slide better. The bullets imply that there should be more than one problem. This, however, is a great problem that is easy to connect with and that people want to see solved.
Startup PromoTix ($48M in traction) is saving the events industry
PromoTix is solving the event industry’s challenges around high ticket fees and low attendance. Ticketmaster and competitors charge up to 40% of the ticket price to book, deterring guests who can’t afford the added cost. Combined with a crowded marketing space, events struggle.
PromoTix is raising funds to expand. Already profitable, with 656k users and $48M in sales in its first 30 months, PromoTix has low-fee and no-fee SaaS pricing, as well as patented marketing tools that drive attendance.
They really missed the mark by not following up on a strong problem with a strong solution. The mission sounds great, but it's not a reason to invest. Having the solution here would have made the mission or the mission before the problem much stronger.
This is a great slide to show what makes them different/unique. This would also be about the right place to put it sometime after you do the problem/solution.
Startup PromoTix ($48M in traction) is saving the events industry
PromoTix, seeking funds to expand, tackles high ticket fees and low event attendance, countering Ticketmaster’s 35-40% fees. With 656k users and $48M in sales in the first 30 months, it offers low/no-fee SaaS pricing and innovative marketing tools.
This is a great slide that tells investors why they should invest. it is what makes them unique and what gives them a competitive advantage.
Again, this is amazing for investors. They need to know why you are going to win! This is what this slide does! Most founders miss that.
Going in-depth on the biggest USP. This is a deck that really nails the investor pitch. They aren’t just showcasing the company, they are explaining why its something you should want to put your money into.
Another USP. This deck is from 8 years ago, so at the time, this would have been a solid USP, especially in fintech. Today, this would be much weaker.
Everyone loves a graph like this!
I love this! They clearly explain all the key details investors need to know about the founders, including how they met. Founder breakups are the top cause of startup failure. It might seem small, but the relationship between founders is something investors care about deeply.
Would you invest based on this deck? |
