Beehiiv Deck Breakdown
Hey Persuaders!
Today, I want to look at this deck from Beehiiv, which they used to raise $1.3M in pre-seed funding.
They open here with a strong perspective framer. This is still something many of the decks you guys are emailing me don’t have. I’ll dive into this in tomorrow’s newsletter in more detail, but you need to set the frame through which you want investors to view the rest of the pitch in this slide. You CAN’T just jump into the pitch. This is very well done.
This is interesting as I personally use BeeHiiv, and I view it as a painkiller, but they pitched it as a vitamin. They didn’t claim that there was a massive problem but instead that there was a significant opportunity to be captured.

They continue here with the vitamin pitch, showing how big the opportunity is…
Still focused on potential…
AI brews beer and your big ideas
What’s your biggest business challenge? Don’t worry about wording it perfectly or describing it just right. Brain dump your description into AE Studio’s new tool and AI will help you solve that work puzzle.
Describe your challenge in three quick questions. Then AI churns out solutions customized to you.
AE Studio exists to solve business problems. They build great products and create custom software, AI and BCI solutions. And they once brewed beer by training AI to instruct a brewmeister and then to market the result. The beer sold out – true story.
Beyond beer, AE Studio’s data scientists, designers and developers have done even more impressive things working 1:1 with founders and executives. They’re a great match for leaders wanting to incorporate AI and just generally deliver outstanding products built with the latest tools and tech.
If you’re done guessing how to solve work problems or have a crazy idea in your back pocket to test out, ask AI Ideas by AE Studio for free solutions, right now.
This is a very unique slide. It's one that shows an incredible understanding of their market but is also high risk. If you don’t nail this slide and there are any holes in your argument, then there is a real risk that you lose the investment.
Continues to pitch the size of the opportunity…
We are onto slide 9 here and they are finally starting to talk about the product. Again, this shows the importance of framing the perspective and diving into the problem/opportunity in-depth before touching the solution. This is something we consistently see in decks that raise, but 90%+ of decks that I see from founders who haven’t raised take about the solution on the 3rd/4th slide.
This deck is 20 slides long, so if you want to read the rest, you can check it out here.
