♞ Bitrich Deck Breakdown

Hey Persuaders!

In partnership with

Today, we will look at a subscriber’s deck sent to me.

If you are ready to have your deck reviewed by me, reply to this email. I will do a review like this in a newsletter for $99 or a private one for $299.

This startup is in the gaming industry, so there are some differences in the style of deck, but I believe that there should have been a one-liner here to explain what they are doing.

The team here is extremely impressive, so it was a great strategy to have the team slide leadoff the deck. It isn’t normal to do, and generally, even for the best teams, I would normally recommend that you get through your perspective framer, problem and solution before getting into team, market, business plan, etc, but in this circumstance, the team being the first content slide works. It really is the top reason anyone would invest.

Private Markets Aren’t Just for the 1% Anymore.

Institutions invest billions into private markets because they may provide superior market positions and steady cash flow, even in a shaky market–now you can too.

For the first time ever, elite private assets are available to all investors for as little as $500 with Hamilton Lane Private Infrastructure Fund.

The narrative here is about the story and growth of the company, so starting the narrative with their last project makes sense. The traction here is also impressive enough that this, along with the team slide, may be enough to get many investors 90% of the way towards investing.

Generally, jumping into the product this early would be a mistake, but in this case, with such a strong start to the deck, there is enough of a basis here that the deck can move into the product and start explaining the next stage of the business which is this new game.

This is a great slide to quickly explain what they are building.

These unique selling points are the equivalent of showing the benefits of a traditional “product”. It’s a well-placed slide that demonstrates why consumers will buy the game.

This is something that I disagree with. If you start having multiple different amounts that you are willing to raise, then it communicates to investors that you don’t have a fixed plan to move forward. This can scare away investors who will be concerned that you don’t know what it will take to build the product necessary to deliver the results promised.

I am not a fan of appendices. They can distract from the main point and drag out the deck. I’m not saying that they don’t ever have a place but if it isn’t absolutely neccesary then I wouldn’t include it.
