It’s been a while since I’ve talked about a Story Vault, so today, I want to remind everyone of the importance of building your story vault.
A story vault is a collection of stories that you prepare that you can pull out at any time to help you explain concepts, relate to others and add emotion to your pitch. One of the greatest skills that a founder can have is the ability to be personable and get you to buy into the missions and vision of their company. The easiest way to do that is through well-placed stories.
Personally, I keep a story vault in a Notion document where I can add different stories, each with a purpose, and when necessary, I can rely on them to fulfill that purpose. Here is how to start your story vault…

Classifying your story based on the emotions that they convey, I break mine into seven categories: happy, sad, disgusted, angry, fearful, bad and surprised. These are the emotions I want others to feel when I tell the story.
