I’ve recently been working with a few companies, and a common problem that comes up is a lack of CLARITY.
Many founders have what I call the Founder Curse; you are so knowledgeable about your own company and so passionate about what you are working on that you forget your baseline knowledge is miles ahead of your audience.
In your mind, your company is revolutionary, solving numerous problems with one genius solution. The problem is that when you try to communicate this, you overload the survival brain of the listener and trigger a fight, flight or freeze response.

When you communicate, you need to be very clear. Your company needs to have:
1 Problem
1 Solution
A clear description of who your customer is
Clearly articulate how many of those customers exist
Clearly explain how much each will pay
Clearly demonstrate how your team can execute the plan.
Thats it. It is that simple. This type of clear pitch should be concise. It should be easy to understand and easy for someone without your knowledge and experience to share with their family/friends.
So next time you work on your pitch, prioritize clarity above all else. The psychology and storytelling tips I provide help you go from 1 to 100. But if your pitch is overly complex, go back down to basics and focus on clearly going from 0-1.
