Hey Persuaders!

Today, we will look at a subscriber’s deck that was sent to me.

This is a decent cover slide. Personally, I wouldn’t put the screenshot here; it doesn’t make much sense to me. Nobody is looking at the product on the cover slide, so you just risk giving away your chance to control the first impression later in the deck by throwing it here for what?

This is a great problem slide that has three clear challenges that the company can tackle. I would have liked a perspective framer here, given that they are tackling a problem that does have lots of social implications, but otherwise it is a fine start to the deck.

This here is the type of social problem that should be addressed in a perspective framer. It doesn’t make sense to add this now after you have already talked about the specific problems that you are aiming to solve.

The solution here doesn’t match the problems, which is a major issue. I really don’t see the connection between this “solution” and the “problem”. When that happens, as far as I’m concerned, the deck is 100% dead. There is no way to redeem a deck that doesn’t nail the basics.

At this point, from my perspective, it gets very concerning that the founders have a second chance to match a solution to the problems identified and fail to do so. It has me concerned that they may have found a problem, but don’t actually know how to solve it.

Market slide should be bottom up, not top down. This slide doesn’t provide any value to an investor.
