♞ Fundraising Questions to Prepare (Part 3/4)
Hey Persuaders!
Over the next two weeks, I am going to have a 4-part mini-series where I go through the fundraising questions that I hear most often, so that you can make sure that you have an answer to each of these questions. Today we are going to focus on questions about your Team and Competition.
Team
What is your relationship to your co-founder? How did you meet? How do you know each other? Have you worked together? In what capacity did you work together? Have you shipped product together?
What is your background? What is your academic background? What is your practical experience? Have you worked in this industry before? Have you started a company before? Have you exited a company before?
What is unique about your team? How does that give you an advantage in solving this problem?
Who will need to be your first hire? Why?
What skillsets do you need on your team in the next 18-24 months?
How do you resolve disagreements? When was the last time you had one? What happened?
Do you have the skillset and knowledge to build and launch the product?
How is equity distributed between the co-founders?

Competition
What is the biggest advantage you have over your competitors?
What makes you different from your biggest competitor?
How can you sustain your advantage over your biggest competitor?
What will you do if Google copies you?
What is your moat?
What would be more threatening to you, if a big tech company copied you or another startup with a similar solution?
Who are the biggest players in the market?
Do you have an answer to these questions? |
Take From the Rich, Give to the People, Big Data’s Robinhood
Big tech uses our data to pad their pockets. Facebook alone makes $42B a year. But modern-day Robinhood, $MODE, allows everyone to share in the profits. 45M+ users and $60M+ in revenue later, Mode prepares for an IPO.
