♞ Lollipop Deck Breakdown
Hey Persuaders!
Today, we will look at a seed deck from Lollipop used to raise $6.1M.
This is a weird opening slide, they actually have a great idea for a company and having a solid one-liner would have helped to better set the stage for their presentation. I had to read this deck a few times before I understood the value prop, that shouldn’t be the case.
This is a compelling slide. Anytime that you can show that your company is benefiting from a trend far outside the control of one individual, it makes you seem as if you are taking advantage of the type of opportunity that can’t be “created.”

This is a great vision that shows the market that they are looking to capture. It would have been more powerful if they could provide a comparison for traditional (non-delivery) businesses. In my mind they are taking up the “Costco” part of the market, providing large scale stock ups via delivery.
Breaking down the problem in this much depth is so important at the pre-seed/seed stage. It shows that you truly understand the market that you are selling to and how you can provide value to your customers.
Billionaires wanted it, but 66,930 everyday investors got it first.
When incredibly valuable assets come up for sale, it's typically the wealthiest people that end up taking home an amazing investment. But not always…
One platform is taking on the billionaires at their own game, buying up and securitizing some of the most prized blue-chip artworks for its investors.
It's called Masterworks. Their nearly $1 billion collection includes works by greats like Banksy, Picasso, and Basquiat. When Masterworks sells a painting – like the 23 it's already sold – investors reap their portion of the net proceeds.
In just the last few years, Masterworks investors have realized net annualized returns like +17.6%, +17.8%, and +21.5% (from 3 illustrative sales held longer than one year).
Past performance not indicative of future returns. Investing Involves Risk. See Important Disclosures at masterworks.com/cd.
Again, this further breaks down the market and shows an understanding of why people use their competitors.
This is a great way to show what makes them unique, they are combining what the market leaders are doing and what they can offer in addition to make their product more valuable.
Solid value proposition but it misses out on explaining a lot of what the company offers.
Here we see the rest of the value proposition; this is the stronger value proposition, so combining this slide with the last would have been ideal.
