Miren Preseed Deck Breakdown
Hey Persuaders!
Before we jump in here, not the style that they use. Specifically, they have one sentence on each slide that ties the narrative together. This is something I’ve done with some clients and it’s had great success, especially with attention decks since you aren’t there to talk over them.
Slide 1: Introduction
A strong first slide that has a clear one-liner to help set the context for the next few slides. This is something many founders overlook. If an investor has no idea what your company does it can be hard to understand the first 2-3 slides.
I personally wouldn’t have the contact information here but it’s not doing any hard. I’d remove it for a cleaner look and because nobody needs it on slide 1, they need it on the last slide (if at all).
Slide 2: Problem (1/2)
This is a traditional problem slide that explains WHAT the problem is and uses the rule of threes to communicate clearly the specific sub-problems that exist.

Slide 3: Problem (2/2)
They continue to problem slides here talking about the WHY
Slide 4: Solution (1/2)
Normally I would say this is too early for the solution slide but this is a very short 12-slide deck so it’s appropriately placed.
Slide 5: Solution (2/2)
I don't love having two solution slides but what I dislike more is not understanding what the product is. They clearly have some complexity to their solution so they have taken the time to clearly explain it.
Slide 6: Market (1/3)
Great slide to continue their narrative and show where they have come from. Remember that a story needs a beginning, middle and end. Today you are in the middle, so explain where you came from so that investors don’t feel like you are stuck at the starting blocks.
Slide 7: Competition
Simple slide to highlight the competitors.
Slide 8: Market (2/3)
This pitch leans very heavily into the potential of the company. This should tell you that it’s also high risk. They were very smart in keeping the focus here on the potential and growth and NOT the risk. Three market slides might be excessive but it keeps the investor thinking about the side of the risk/potential equation that benefits the company.
Slide 9: Market (3/3)
Slide 10: Team
I don’t love this team slide but its well placed. Personally, I’d need more than just a few company logos.
Slide 11: Strategy
We mentioned they had a slide about the past, now we get to the future.
Slide 12: Closing Slide
This is a little busy but the content is perfect! A sentence to summarize the pitch that is inviting. A company logo and contact information!
