Today, we will look at a Seed deck from Misha’s used to raise $3M.

This is a great opening slide, it immediately conveys the value proposition and what the company is doing. They are real cheese with no dairy. It could not be more straightforward.

This could have been integrated into the first slide. I’ve had this issue with clients where we have 2/3 different one-liners and want to mix them all in. Doing this back-to-back isn’t ideal, but it also doesn’t hurt. I don’t mind this at all.

This is all information that should have been mixed into a perspective framer with a strong narrative. Practically, this works as the perspective framer, but it could have been more effective with a strong narrative.

I would have pitched this as a vitamin, not a painkiller. Most VCs lean right, and I’d assume they aren’t overly concerned about dairy-free cheese. Pitching it as a challenge vs an opportunity might alienate them. However, it could help you relate to those who do value this product; maybe it was a calculated risk.

This is a great slide. It makes the solution seem inevitable, which is very strong. When I read this, I figured that in 20 years, obviously, someone will be making dairy-free cheese. Now, they only need to convince me they are the right team.

Great founders slide and great placement within the deck. After reading the solution, all I cared about was the team; I’m sold on the product, so throwing this here instead of jumping into the product itself is a massive win. Most founders don’t know when to move up their team slide. This is an example of when it needs to be right after the initial story.
