The Power Of The Inevitable

Thanks for helping me out this week. Please continue to reply to these emails! Today I want to discuss the power of the inevitable and how you can leverage inevitability to help improve your pitch.

This shift to BeeHiiv should be complete by Sunday! Please Reply and say “Hi”. Only one more day of this! Thank you!

Leverage the feeling of inevitability to increase your chances of raising.

One of the first questions that any VC needs to answer before investing is: Is this a good product/solution/idea?

If they don’t think the product makes sense, they won’t invest; it’s that simple. This is why it has historically been easier to raise for products that VCs or those from their socioeconomic background use, as they can more clearly understand the use case.

A “hack” to jumping this hurdle is to make your product seem inevitable.

Example
Instead of trying to convince them that your gamified education system will be the future of education.

Try: 95% of people under 30 currently play video games. 70% of them claim that it is their primary method of learning. Teachers have been developing and designing interactive teaching methods for generations. Based on technological and social trends, it’s clear that games will soon be a fundamental part of the education system.

Summary

To remove doubts about whether your product/solution/idea is good, show that it is inevitable. If you can show that even if you don’t build it, someone else will, investors will instantly become interested in owning a piece of the future.

Does your pitch deck already show why your solution is inevitable?
