♞ Proper Deck Breakdown
Hey Persuaders!
Today, we will look at a Seed deck from Proper used to raise $4.3M.
There isn’t a need to put the word “Overview” here; I would just replace it by centring the name “Proper” and the one-liner and making both bigger.
This is a solid perspective framer. It isn’t something that most people would disagree with (those that do will never invest anyway), and it sets a clear lens through which to pitch the company and its value proposition.

The best investors need the information that matters, fast.
That’s why a lot of them (including investors from a16z, Bessemer, Founders Fund, and Sequoia) trust this free newsletter.
It’s a five minute-read every morning, and it gives readers the information they need ASAP so they can spend less time scrolling and more time doing.
The “but” isn’t needed here. If you are going to use a narrative tone, then don’t use headers on your slides. It’s either or. Using the rule of threes here is good, although finding a way to make each bullet more memorable would have helped.
Again a clear slide that communicates figures that make it easy for anyone to understand the problem and the value of the solution.

AI won’t take your job, but a person using AI might. That’s why 800,000+ professionals read The Rundown AI – the free newsletter that keeps you updated on the latest AI news and teaches you how to use it in just 5 minutes a day.
This should be called the solution slide. You need to have a solution slide that addresses the problems on the problem slide. It might seem overly simplistic but having that basic way for investors to connect the problem and solution helps them focus on the value and not obsess over the solution itself.
