This cover slide is a mess. There should be a much stronger one-liner. The information about their past accelerators doesn’t need to be here, nor does the information about the founder or contact info.
Cover slides really need to be kept simple; this is not the place to dump info, especially not contact information, emails or links that can direct readers away from the deck.

This is a good slide to show the ARR and give investors a reason to care. I just don’t love it as the first content slide. This placement causes it to overshadow whatever comes next. If you start the narrative first, then dive into this, it would be much more impactful.

The team here is not important enough nor qualified enough to justify this slide being so early. This isn’t a team where their experience is the primary reason someone would invest, and therefore, they should leave this slide until later in the deck. Again, it is a misalignment of priorities and a slide that distracts from the narrative that could help them raise.

This is now where it’s obvious that this deck isn’t going anywhere. There is no problem/solution, and we are now diving into the details. This deck has completely cut out the core of a pitch and just thrown in ancillary slides. As you read through this it is obvious why this deck doesn’t flow and it is that it is not built around anything, its hard to even explain what they are doing 5 slides into the deck.

Again, here we are jumping into something that doesn’t mean anything when you can’t understand the problem/solution.

This isn’t a strong “why now” it does not rely on larger trends in the industry. The “why now” slide exists to convince investors that they can’t wait 12 months to invest, this slide does not do that. It gives me no reason to feel that if I don’t act quickly this opportunity won’t still be there in future.

Do you ever wish you could connect with one person who could drastically improve your business? Whether it's an advisor, investor, customer, spokesperson or key hire, now you can. I recently started a new job, supporting promising Canadian startups in securing their first $1-$15M in funding. The #1 way I have connected with founders is through Boardy. Boardy is an AI networking agent on WhatsApp that connects you to people in his network based on your goals. Thanks to Boardy I’ve met so many great founders that I never would have otherwise. Boardy has already helped founders close millions in deals through intros like this. If you want to be one person closer to your goals, message Boardy on WhatsApp.
Despite the horrible overall deck, the next 4 slides are a great narrative that effectively demonstrates the value of the product and how it will influence customers. This is something that can be replicated in more decks where you need investors to be able to step into the shoes of your customer and experience the value.
