Hey Persuaders!
Today, we are going to look at this weird pre-seed deck from Skye that used to raise $1.6M.
This one-liner is a marketing sentence, not an investor one. It tells me nothing about the company, what they are doing that is unique, or why I should invest. When picking a one-liner, make sure to keep in mind that investors are looking for something different from customers and you can’t just dump your marketing material into your deck.
Again, this is a marketing type of talk, not investors. If this was for investors, then it should be the product/solution slide and NEVER be the 2nd slide.

These type of educational slides should be avoided when possible it takes investors out of the story of your pitch. The bigger problem tho is that we have no semblance of either a problem or an opportunity. This is the first deck I’ve seen that raised which doesn’t have one of those two things.
Again, teaching about the industry and not focusing on any type of problem or opportunity.

Again, this is something that seems like it would be on a website to try and attract customers and not explain any business model or investor-focused information. If you are going to do something like this, then it should be really late in the deck, not in one of these key early slides.
Same as the one above.
Finally, here we are starting to see some semblance of a reason why you should invest, but we still aren’t seeing any problem or solution; this deck is fundamentally flawed because of it.
The story here is very unclear. As an investor, I don’t know what they are trying to show as their unique proposition.
