♞ Smarthost Deck Breakdown
Hey Persuaders!

Today, we will look at a Pre-Seed deck from Smarthost used to raise $118k.
This is a brilliant first slide that includes the basics (name, logo and one-liner) while also having some social proof to help provide more authority to the founder before jumping into the pitch.

I don’t like that this was labelled “vision,” but otherwise, it’s a good perspective framer that provides the framework within which the pitch will occur. This specific style of perspective framer is like a movie that shows the ending at the start, it helps you see where the pitch is going to keep you in track as the listener.

Having a clear plan of how big your total market is and how you will scale up is crucial for investors to believe your market data. I would have preferred that they go deeper here but overall they followed that strategy by outlining a plan to start with a small market and grow from there.

Pharmaceuticals can’t do it all. Meet the immersive tech improving mental health.
SoundSelf uses sound, light, and biofeedback to help users reach states of profound mental stillness and clarity in as little as 15 minutes. You can become a shareholder and help bring this life-changing tech to more people.
Read the Offering information carefully before investing. It contains details of the issuer’s business, risks, charges, expenses, and other information, which should be considered before investing. Obtain a Form C and Offering Memorandum at https://wefunder.com/soundself
The titles remain an issue. The 4th slide can’t be your “intro” slide. This is just an extension of their market slide, explaining why they chose the vacation rental market as their entry point.

This is a standard problem slide using the rule of threes to outline three specific problems that the investor can remember.

They have a complementary solution slide with a matching solution for each problem. I would have preferred a design that makes that more obvious but overall this is well executed.

Invest with the art investment platform with 23 profitable exits.
How has the art investing platform Masterworks been able to realize an individual profit for investors with each of its 23 exits to date?
Here’s an example: an exited Banksy was offered to investors at $1.039 million and internally appraised at the same value after acquisition. As Banksy’s market took off, Masterworks received an offer of $1.5 million from a private collector, resulting in 32% net annualized return for investors in the offering.
Every artwork performs differently — but with 3 illustrative sales (that were held for 1+ year), Masterworks investors realized net annualized returns of 17.6%, 17.8%, and 21.5%.
Masterworks takes care of the heavy lifting: from buying the paintings, to storing them, to selling them for you (no art experience required).
