Today, we will look at a Series A deck from Switchboard used to raise $25M.

Before diving in, I want to note that raising $25M with these metrics is not common at this stage. The founder had multiple exits so that he could raise so much at such aggressive valuations.

This is an incredible opening slide. It has a fantastic one-liner that very clearly explains the value proposition. The founder also knows their top selling point and puts it front and center immediately to give themselves the validation necessary to hook investors.

This team knows that they are the major selling point of their company. Putting their team slide second, allows them to follow a strategy where you build your deck by placing the most attractive selling points first instead of prioritizing a “traditional” format.

This is a great problem slide. The problem is very widely understood so this simple format is still effective at communicating what the company is solving for.

This comparison is another great visual to demonstrate the value of the the product. Having multiple ways to demonstrate the value proposition is important for insuring that investors can see the value you bring.

This is an excellent place for the demo. It’s perfectly timed to reengage investors when there is a natural dip in the flow of the story.
