♞ Wise Deck Breakdown
Hey Persuaders!
Today, I want to look at this Seed deck from Wise. It was used to raise $1.3M.
Simple. straightforward opening slide.
This is a really interesting slide. Instead of having a problem/solution slide as you traditionally have they combined them into a single slide. Framing this as a before/after works well here to demonstrate the value proposition in a clear and concise manner. I haven’t seen this done effectively in other decks but if this style fits your company it might be something worth considering.

If you are going to promise something that the market can’t already do then clearly explaining what you are doing to allow you to overcome the hurdle that is holding up your competitors is key. This is something Elon Musk is very good at. He has his own style of pitching and it often hinges on this specific slide. It’s not traditional to put here but if you are going to go this route of pitching a cheaper/better product than your competitors then you NEED this to show how.
Well-placed traction slide. When you are venturing into the “unbelievable” territory, then you NEED to be able to quickly ground your pitch in reality, and that is what a traction slide does.

I like the design of this slide. It doesn’t give timelines (not committing yourself to anything) but it does show the way that you can grow. Many investors struggle to see more than one path for growth and this quickly demonstrates 3.
